Wasel Abu Yousef

Wasel Abu Yousef (واصل أبو يوسف) has led the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF) since 2007. In May 2018, he was elected to the PLO‘s Executive Committee – replacing Ali Ishaq.

Abu Youssef was born in 1953 near Hebron. Reflecting the PLF’s own evolution, he was previously a member of both the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command (PFLP-GC).

During the Second Intifada, he was involved with the National and Islamic Forces (NIF).
