Mohammad Mustafa (Economic Affairs Adviser)

Mohammad Mustafa was born in 1954. He has been a senior adviser to President Mahmoud Abbas on economic affairs since 2005. He has also been the chairman of the Palestine Investment Fund (PIF) since 2009, and is the founding CEO of PalTel. He served as deputy prime minister of the Palestinian Authority (PA) for economic affairs in 2013, and as deputy Prime minister and minister of national economy from 2013 to 2014

He has launched a number of start-ups and companies, including PalTel, Wataniya Mobile, and Massader for Natural Resources and Infrastructure, as well as investment funds, such as the Rasmala Palestine Equity Fund and the Sharakat Fund for SMEs.

In 2000, he was an economic reform adviser to Kuwait. Prior to that, he was the lead adviser on privatisation and public-private partnerships for the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia between 1997 and 1998.
