Khalil al-Bahtini*

Khalil al-Bahtini (خليل البهتيني), born in 1978, was a senior member of the military council of the Al-Quds Brigades (AQB) — the armed wing of Islamic Jihad (PIJ). He was also the group’s military leader for northern Gaza, replacing Tayseer al-Jabari who was assassinated by Israel in August 2022.

Israel accused al-Bahtini of being behind a rocket launch directed at an election rally of Prime Minister Netanyahu in Ashkelon on 25 December 2019. He was killed in an Israeli airstrike in May 2023.
