Jaber Weshah
Dr Jaber Weshah (جبر وشاح), born in Gaza in 1950, is a candidate for the May 2021 legislative elections running on the ‘Together We Can’ list of Salam Fayyad.
Formerly part of the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), he has spent 15 years in Israeli prisons. In 1977 he was deported to Egypt, forcibly removed to Iraq two years later, then returned later to Palestine.
He worked at the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights for 17 years, including serving as its Deputy Director until 2017.
