Jun 2013 — presentDr. Viljar Veebel is a researcher at the Department of Political and Strategic Studies at the Baltic Defence College. The expertise of Viljar Veebel combines high-level academic knowledge and 20 years of fieldwork as a consultant in the EU institutions, member states and partner states. He has worked as an academic advisor to the Estonian government at the European Future Convention and as a researcher for OSCE, SIDA, the European Council on Foreign Relations, the Estonian Foreign Policy Institute, and Eurasia Group. In recent years, Viljar Veebel has been researching trends in Russian military capabilities and necessary counter-developments in the EU. Simultaneously, he has been working for UK and US government-financed defence-related projects in the Baltic States and Ukraine.
