Sudan is facing an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. Ethnic killing plagues Darfur once again, millions have been displaced, and now a famine is looming. The fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces shows no sign of abating and with all eyes fixed on Gaza and Ukraine, the humanitarian response is falling critically short.

On April 15th, France will host a major humanitarian summit in Paris bringing together ministers and parties from across the conflict. Sudanese activists and humanitarians have pinned huge hopes on the summit which falls on the anniversary of the civil war breaking out.

In this closed-door roundtable, ECFR will gather European policymakers and Sudanese humanitarians to deep dive into the situation on the ground, the obstacles to an effective humanitarian response and stakeholder expectations of the Paris Summit.
