Marissa Gillwald is the European Power programme assistant at the European Council on Foreign Relations, based in the Berlin office.
Before joining ECFR, she was a student assistant at the American Chamber of Commerce Germany and project assistant at the Aspen Institute Germany. She is an alumna of two fellowship programs: the International Parliamentary Scholarship in 2022 and the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals in 2017-2018.
Gillwald holds an MPP from the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt and a BA in international studies from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia in the United States. Her research interests include transatlantic relations, US and European politics and foreign policy, and female leadership in far-right politics.
