Laura El-Katiri was a consultant specialising in energy and sustainable development, with a focus on the Middle East and Africa. She has written extensively on the global energy transition and renewable energy market development – as well as oil and natural gas market development, energy for development, and energy pricing and subsidy reform. Her research includes work for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, the UN Development Programme, the UN Office for Project Services, the UN Industrial Development Organization, the German Marshall Fund of the United States, and the International Renewable Energy Agency.
El-Katiri is a former research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies at the University of Oxford and teaching fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She is based in Berlin.
