Biography

Irene Sánchez is the Madrid Office and Programme Coordinator at the European Council on Foreign Relations. Prior to joining ECFR in 2022, she worked as an intern at the defence and military analysis programme at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Berlin and at the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung regional programme Alliances for Democracy and Development with Latin America. Previously, she performed as research fellow at the University of Granada’s Law Faculty. 

Sánchez holds a double Master of Arts degree in International War Studies from the Universität Potsdam and University College Dublin, and a BA in Criminology from the University of Granada.
