Youth Forum – Next Generation MENA: Exploring the Power of Change

The Youth Forum is part of the one-day conference “The future of popular mobilization in the Middle East and North Africa: Insights from 10 years of struggle” jointly organized by the Rome office of ECFR, Centro Studi di Politica Internazionale (CeSPI) and Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI).

This conference is the final event of the project “10 years of protests in the Middle East and North Africa. Dynamics of mobilisation in a complex (geo)political environment“, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).

The Youth Forum gathers young researchers from the Mediterranean area to explore the potential of new generations in shaping the future of the region. In the first panel, we will focus on the evolution of mobilization and activism for civil rights and freedoms in the area, with attention to the online dimension of the calls for change in this domain. In the second panel, we will discuss the potential of digitalisation as a path towards a more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive future for the MENA region.
