Mark Leonard will launch his newly released paperback edition of his book – The Age of Unpeace: How Connectivity Causes Conflict (Penguin) with a brand-new essay on the war in Ukraine and its implications for geopolitics.
The new essay as foreword offers a new way of looking at the origins of the war in Ukraine, the way it is being conducted and what the implications are for global geopolitics. Mark Leonard explains it as a new kind of ‘connectivity war’ precipitated by interdependence gone wrong and shows how it is being fought not just through the heart-breaking struggle for territory but by turning banks, technology, energy, information and even refugees into weapons.
Together with Fiona Hill, the author of “There Is Nothing for You Here: Finding Opportunity in the 21st Century” and co-author of “Mr. Putin: Operative in the Kremlin” and Jason Cowley, the Editor-in-Chief of the New Statesman, Mark Leonard will present his thoughts and ideas at the exclusive launch event on 8 July, from 17:00 – 18:00 CEST.
