The year 2019 marks two significant platinum anniversaries: the founding of NATO in April and the establishment of the Federal Republic of Germany in May. Over the last 70 years, the United States and Germany have remained partners as the international system has evolved, external threats have come and gone, and economic interests have changed. This half-day symposium will examine the challenges facing the transatlantic community and offer a vision for the decades ahead.
