Gaza Leadership
In addition to its top level Political Bureau (Politburo), Hamas has ‘regional’-level politburos representing the West Bank, Gaza, the diaspora, and prisoners in Israeli jails. Each regional politburo is elected by a regional shura council — a local level consultative body.
In March 2021, Hamas members in Gaza elected a new local leadership (politburo) for Gaza composed of 15 members led by Yahya Sinwar.
