Teresa Coratella

Teresa Coratella is the deputy head of the Rome office at the European Council on Foreign Relations.

A Polish-Italian national, Coratella joined ECFR in February 2011. Previously, she worked for the Institute for Eastern Studies, based in Warsaw. She has an MA in European interdisciplinary studies from the College of Europe, Natolin Campus, with a focus on the EU as a regional actor, and an MA in international relations, with a final dissertation on Polish foreign policy between 1989 and 2004. Coratella also holds a BA in political sciences and wrote her final dissertation on Polish-Italian relations.

She is an alumna and member of the Italian Regional Group of the College of Europe; the International Visiting Leadership Program of the US Department of State (2024 cohort); alumna of the On Think Tanks (OTT) School for Thinktankers programme; alumna of the New Security Leaders programme led by the German Marshall Fund and Casimir Pulawski Foundation; member of the Scientific Committee of the NATO Defense College Foundation; and a member and mentor of Women in International Security (WIIS).

Coratella contributes regularly to national, European and foreign media outlets, writes analysis and reports on Italian foreign policy, and contributes regularly to European and international politics podcasts, radio and tv shows.
