Biography

Kat Fytatzi is an editor at the European Council on Foreign Relations, based in the London office.

Before joining ECFR, she worked at geopolitics consultancy firm Oxford Analytica as a senior political risk analyst. For over a decade, she wrote and edited a wide array of articles and reports, ranging from technology, health, gender and migration to the geopolitics of North Africa and the Sahel. She also led the Middle East and Africa desk for a while. She subsequently joined Binding Hook as senior editor, helping to build a platform analysing the impact of technology on geopolitics. Prior to this, Fytatzi researched global security issues for a consultancy.

She studied International Relations at King’s College London (Master’s) and Boston University (Bachelor’s).
