Karien van Gennip

Karien van Gennip has alternated her career between politics and business. She served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of

Social Affairs and Employment in the Dutch cabinet from 2022 until 2024. She is currently an Board Member at several organisations, including ASML and KCO; a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations;  of the Monitoring Committee in the Netherlands and is an advisor to UK based AI start up ConquerAI. In the summer of 2025 she was the Chair of the election program for the CDA.

Until January 2022 she served as the CEO of VGZ, after several management functions at ING, lastly as the CEO of ING France. Before that she was a State Secretary of Economic Affairs and Minister for Foreign Trade. Karien started her career at McKinsey&Company. She has previously been a board member of the OranjeFonds, INSEAD, TomTom N.V., SOS Chlidren’s Village, Deltares and Cordaid, Co-Presidente of Financi’Elles and served as the Vice Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce
