Karel Solař is a working student with the European Power programme at the European Council on Foreign Relations, where he supports event organisation and project coordination for the Re:Order project. Prior to this, he gained experience as a communications intern at ECFR, and has worked as a trainee at the European Parliament and at the Czech embassy in Rome. Solař also has experience in the media sector.
Solař holds a BA in journalism and political science from Masaryk University, where he is currently pursuing a master’s in European studies. His research interests include Ukraine, central and eastern Europe, and EU foreign policy.
Andrej Babis’s populist party won the Czech parliamentary election with the mantra of “Czechia first” and a promise to stop sending ammunition to Ukraine. Another European country, such as Finland, needs to take its place
