Irene Olombrada is the Madrid office coordinator at the European Council on Foreign Relations.
Before joining ECFR in 2025, she was programme assistant at Aspen Institute España, where she organised and coordinated debates and seminars on diverse topics, including politics, technology, sustainability, climate change and leadership. Olombrada has also volunteered with organisations such as Apadrina una Neurona and the Food Bank of Madrid.
She holds a dual bachelor’s degree in international studies and political science from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and has completed an Erasmus programme at the University of Sheffield in the UK. Her two theses focused on public opinion and climate change attitudes across Europe.
