Biography

Shoshana Fine is an associate fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations. She is a postdoctoral researcher in International Relations at CERI-Sciences Po, Hugo Observatory – University of Liège and the German Institute of Global and Area Studies. Fine lectures on migration and asylum at Sciences Po’s Collège Universitaire and University Paris 13.

Fine’s research interests are in migration and borders, Europe, international organisations and the relationship between knowledge and governing interventions. She has recently published a book entitled Mobility and Borders in Turkey with Palgrave New York (2018) based on her doctoral thesis.

Fine holds a doctorate in political science and international relations from Sciences Po Paris and was visiting scholar at the University of Columbia in 2015. She also holds an MA in European Affairs from Sciences Po and the University of Bath and a BA in Sociology from the University of Sussex.
