EU agrees to $1.2tn COVID recovery plan

After 100 hours of negotiations, European Union leaders have finally agreed to a historic coronavirus recovery deal.

Despite objections from the so-called 'frugal' countries – Sweden, Denmark, Austria, the Netherlands and Finland – the 27 EU leaders finally reached a deal on a AU$1.2 trillion stimulus plan.
