The Sofia office of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) is pleased to organise a public discussion “Europe’s choices ahead of the US presidential election” with Gideon Rachman, Chief foreign affairs columnist at the Financial Times and author of “The Age of the Strongman”, and Vessela Tcherneva, ECFR’s Deputy Director.

The discussion will focus on how Europe should tackle the global challenges in the context of the upcoming US presidential election in November. Should Europe prepare for the worst and hope for the best? Or should it take steps to be fully prepared for what’s ahead, from security and defense to technological competition and climate change?

Join us for a vibrant discussion, followed by a Q&A session with the audience, on October 1, at 17:30 at the Literature Club Peroto, National Palace of Culture. The discussion will be held in English, with a simultaneous translation into Bulgarian provided.
