ECFR Madrid office

The ECFR office in Madrid was launched in September 2007 as a research project inside FRIDE, a leading think tank in Spain chaired by Diego Hidalgo, philanthropist and co-founder of ECFR. Since then, we, the team of ECFR Madrid, have advocated for a pan-European approach for the Spanish foreign policy, seeking to make ECFR a platform for the debate of new ideas about that new Spanish foreign policy. We wish to become visible in that task using all the communication and advocacy tools at our disposal, such as social media, blogs or audiovisual media.

We gathered a team led by José Ignacio Torreblanca, senior policy fellow and analyst specialising in Spanish foreign policy, EU enlargement and neighbourhood policy, UE institutional reforms and European security and defence policy.
