The European Council on Foreign Relations

How you can help ECFR

The European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) is a UK registered charity (No. 1143536) and donations from individuals who are UK residents and taxpayers fully qualify for Gift Aid, which means that for every £1 you donate, ECFR can reclaim 25 additional pence from HMRC. Higher rate taxpayers can also reclaim the difference between the 20% basic tax rate and your higher tax rate of 40% or 50%, offering a further significant tax advantage to individual donors.

ECFR is also incorporated as a charitable entity in Germany (ECFR Deutschland GmbH; No. 127/603/54318). Contact us for detailed information, also about the harmonization of charitable donations now possible throughout Europe.  ECFR is also in the process of becoming an independent not-for-profit entity in Italy.

There are several ways you can help fund ECFR’s important work:

  • Pledge an unrestricted gift or grant, allowing maximum flexibility to focus on Europe’s fast-changing priorities
  • Give restricted and designated funds earmarked for ECFR programmes, special initiatives and national offices
  • Create endowed policy fellowships, visiting and youth fellowships
  • Pledge legacies to support our work, either carrying your name or in memoriam
  • Corporate support for ECFR workshops with business participation and for circles of influence around Europe
  • Sponsor events and advocacy efforts or other in-kind support
  • Help us develop new online resources accessible to all those throughout the world interested in Europe's role and values
  • Become a friend of ECFR
