On 22 June 2010 ECFR's Rome office hosted an event in partnership with the Istituto Affari Internazionali. The focus of the event was an ECFR study by Richard Gowan and Daniel Korski: "Can the EU Rebuild Failing States? A Review of Europe's Civilian Capacities" ("This report...provides the necessary wake up call, but also the practical advice needed to reset Europe's approach to overseas interventions." Lord Paddy Ashdown, former High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Nicoletta Pirozzi from IAI presented: "L'Italia nelle missioni civili dell'UE - Criticità e Prospettive” to guests and a panel of speakers including Giuseppe Scognamiglio from Unicredit; Ettore Greco, director of IAI; Emma Bonino, ECFR and Lamberto Dini, President of the Commission of Foreign Affairs.
