On October 27th 2010, the first in a row of events on the topic of "Germany in Europe“ took place in the Hotel Adlon, Berlin. Joschka Fischer, former German Foreign Minister and Co-Chair of ECFR discussed with Sylvie Goulard (MEP), John Kornblum (former U.S. Ambassador to Germany), Quentin Peel (Financial Times) and Philipp Mißfelder (MP & Foreign Policy Spokesperson of CDU/CSU fraction).
150 guests followed a discussion on the new role of Germany towards the EU and its perception here and abroad. With the support of the German Stiftung Mercator, ECFR Berlin will pursue its programme on “Germany in Europe” during the next three years.
Parallel to the first event, Dr. Ulrike Guérot, Senior Policy Fellow and Head of the Berlin Office, published a first ECFR Memo, titled “Wie viel Europa darf es sein?” that can be accessed here.
