To someone from 1989, the Slavia café in Prague would appear almost unchanged – the view of the National Theatre across the street is the same, as is the art deco interior, with linoleum floors and aproned waiters.
But as Simon Panek, a student leader 20 years ago who helped plan the demonstrations that brought down communist rule, pushes past the narrow tables, it becomes obvious that the country has changed completely over the past two decades.
